A burn ban has been issued for Martin County, effective immediately. Under the ban, several activities are prohibited, including campfires and recreational fires, unless enclosed in a fire ring of at least 23 inches in diameter and 6 inches high. Open burns using wood or other combustible materials are banned, with exceptions for charcoal and propane grills. The burning of debris, such as vegetation or construction materials, is also prohibited. Residents are advised to limit the use of fireworks to non-aerial devices. The ban remains in effect until further notice.
