A group of citizens in Washington has banded together to raise funds to improve the soccer field at Longfellow Park in Washington. With the addition of the new pickleball courts, the handicap accessible playground, and more, Longfellow Park is becoming a great destination for recreation in our community. Tara Parsons says they have applied for a 100 percent matching patronage grant to match dollar for dollar at 50 thousand dollars.
Only a couple of weeks remain to donate. The group is getting closer to the goal every day. The improvements will include new bleachers, a new scoreboard, and many other much-needed improvements. You can pledge a donation at the link on our WAMW Facebook page.
