On Monday night, Trooper Noah Ewing arrested 18-year-old Dean Cox of Paoli for possession of methamphetamine and resisting law enforcement. The arrest occurred at approximately 10:05 p.m. after Trooper Ewing pulled over a Cadillac on State Road 56 near Monon Drive for an improper license plate display. During the stop, Trooper Ewing noticed signs of criminal activity and asked Cox to exit the vehicle. Cox became hostile, refused commands, and after a brief struggle, was placed in handcuffs. A search revealed suspected methamphetamine, and Cox showed visible signs of impairment. After undergoing a chemical test at IU Health Hospital in Paoli, Cox was transported to the Orange County Jail, where he is being held on bond.
