The Indiana Military Museum will hold a Vietnam Veterans Appreciation Day on Saturday, October 5, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (EST). The event is a “Welcome Home” for Vietnam Veterans, who will receive free admission to the museum. The day’s activities include paid flights on a restored 1970 UH-1H “Huey” helicopter, operated by Indiana Air Search & Rescue (IASAR), which flew in Vietnam and now serves the community. Vietnam Veterans can fly for free. Visitors can also explore a recreated Vietnam “firebase” with uniformed reenactors and tour the museum’s dioramas, including a Vietnam communications bunker. The museum is open from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily. Regular admission is $9 for adults and $5 for children, while outdoor exhibits are free to view.
