Bruce Borders (R-Jasonville) and Shane Lindauer (R-Jasper), this funding is part of the state’s 2023 biennial budget, which allocated significant resources for school safety. A total of 499 schools across Indiana’s 92 counties were awarded $24 million in matching grants. Local recipients include:
Barr-Reeve Community Schools Inc.: $12,150
North Daviess Community Schools: $17,010
Washington Catholic School: $14,254
Washington Community Schools: $81,000
The grants will help address a variety of safety needs, such as resource officers, equipment upgrades, active-event warning systems, and student support services.
