Coyeville “Coy” Belcher

Coyeville “Coy” Belcher, 88, of Shoals, passed away on Wednesday, September 11, 2024 at St. Mary”s Hospital, Evansville.

Born July 9, 1936, in French Lick, he was the son of Everett D Belcher and Evelyn (Crowder) Traylor.

He married Shirley Grafton on January 1, 1956 at the Shoals United Methodist Church.

Coy graduated from Shoals High School with the class of 1955.

He worked at National Gypsum for nearly 50 years before retiring and hauled stone for many years in his personal eight ton dump truck.

Coy was a veteran of the United States Army and a member of the Loogootee Christian Church.

Surviving are his children, Sandra (Roger) Wraley, of Shoals, Leanna (Jim) Potts, of Shoals, and Darrin (Stephanie) Belcher, of Kentucky; grandchildren, Jasmine (Jared) Sheetz, Taylor (Lauren) Belcher, Clayton Belcher, Brynnae Belcher, and Jamer Potts; great-grandchildren, Xander Sheetz, Ben Belcher, Ava Belcher, and Audrey Belcher; sisters, Mary Pierson and Alice Tedrow; sister-in-law, Shirley Belcher; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Shirley; siblings, Dale Belcher, Ray Belcher, and Anis Arlouine in infancy; and brothers-in-law, Dale Tedrow and Bill Pierson.

Funeral service will be at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, September 21, 2024 at the Queen-Lee Chapel of George Funeral Care with Pastor Ed Frost officiating. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3-7 P.M. on Friday, September 20, 2024 at the Queen-Lee Chapel, Shoals.
