Yesterday, a traffic stop in Knox County resulted in the arrest of a 25-year-old woman on drug-related charges. Around 4:27 a.m., a deputy pulled over a gray Hyundai Elantra for an expired license plate, which was found to belong to a different vehicle, a 2004 Saturn Vue. A K-9 unit alerted deputies to the presence of drugs, leading to the discovery of methamphetamine in the purse of a passenger, later identified as Annette Burkhardt of Vincennes. Burkhardt initially refused to provide her identity but was arrested for possession of methamphetamine and possession of paraphernalia. Authorities also discovered she had an active warrant for probation violation in Knox County. Burkhardt is currently being held without bond, awaiting her court appearance. The vehicle’s driver was cited for false registration and released at the scene.
