At the recent Loogootee City Council meeting, Mayor Brian Ader led the session with council members in attendance. The meeting included approval of previous minutes and a proposal from Wesler Engineering for a master plan to modernize the city’s wastewater treatment system. The council discussed placing a bench in honor of Donnie Grindstaff and approved the replacement of the wastewater treatment plant’s disinfection system. The fire department announced upcoming training at North Street, and a new “Handle With Care” program was introduced to support children in traumatic situations. Additionally, the creation of a Redevelopment Commission was discussed to support future urban development initiatives.
