Margaret Jones Pendley

Margaret J. Pendley, 99, of Greenwood, formerly of Shoals, passed away on Saturday, August 31, 2024,
at Franciscan Hospice House, Indianapolis.
Born May 30, 1925, in Shoals, she was the daughter of Hovey and Myrtle (Jones) Pendley.
Margaret graduated from Shoals High School with the class of 1941.
She worked at Eli Lilly & Company for over 41 years, retiring in 1987.
Surviving are her sister-in-law, Esther Pendley; nieces and nephews, Sandra Simmons, Margie (Gary) Eltzroth, Kevin Bailey, and Roger Lee Pendley; great-nieces and great-nephews, Steve Simmons, Lori Moore, J.D. Simmons, Noah Eltzroth, and Gabe Eltzroth; great-great nieces and great-great nephews, Alli (Wyatt) Squires, Ryan Simmons, Mandi Simmons, and Jake Simmons; and three great-great-great niece and great-great-great nephews, Karri, Leeland, and Hunter.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Edmund Russell Pendley, Eldeana Rose Bailey, and Forrest Roger Pendley.
Funeral service will be at 3:00 P.M. on Thursday, September 5, 2024 at the Queen-Lee Chapel of George Funeral Care. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 2:00 P.M. until the hour of service on Thursday at the Queen-Lee Chapel, Shoals.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the Donor’s choice.
