Last night, Elisa Ferrer, 29, of Vincennes, was arrested on multiple drug-related charges after a routine patrol by the Jasper Police Department. At approximately 10:45 p.m., an officer observed a suspicious vehicle parked in the Grand Rental Station parking lot on MacArthur Street, long after business hours. When the officer approached, the vehicle’s lights were turned off. The officer detected the odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. Ferrer, the driver, was removed from the vehicle, and a K9 unit indicated the presence of drugs. A search of the vehicle revealed a pill bottle containing a crushed powdery substance that tested positive for cocaine and fentanyl, weighing approximately one gram. Additionally, multiple pill bottles with various prescribed drugs not belonging to Ferrer, including Schedule 2 controlled substances, were discovered. Ferrer was taken into custody and lodged at the Dubois County Security Center. She faces charges of possession of a controlled substance, possession of a legend drug, and possession of cocaine or a narcotic drug, with some charges rising to the level of a felony.
