After more than three decades, Petersburg is breaking ground on its first single-family subdivision, The Meadows at Parkview. This new development, spanning 60 acres recently annexed into the City of Petersburg, represents the first phase of a broader residential project within a Tax Increment Financing (TIF) district. The initial phase of The Meadows at Parkview includes excavation and the construction of a multi-use pathway connecting the subdivision to the City Park. The project will offer 24 lots for new home construction, with plans to expand to a total of 102 single-family homes. The project has received $1,239,220 in READI 1.0 funds from the Indiana First Region, with matching contributions from Pike County and the City of Petersburg. The Indiana First Region, which includes Pike County, was awarded a $15 million READI 1.0 allocation.
