Perry County, IN — A juvenile male from Kentucky has been arrested for attempted murder and other felony offenses following a dispute between two groups of juveniles at Rainbow Lake in Derby, Indiana. July 27, around 8 p.m., the Perry County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of shots fired. Two individuals sustained suspected gunshot injuries, and a third person suffered minor injuries from broken glass. Authorities quickly located and detained the involved vehicles, arresting the juvenile male who was later transported to a juvenile facility. The Indiana State Police are leading the investigation. The names of those involved are not being released due to their juvenile status.
Juvenile Charges:
Attempted Murder, Aggravated Battery, Battery with a Deadly Weapon, Battery Resulting in Serious Bodily Injury, Criminal Recklessness, Pointing a Firearm, Dealing Marijuana, Possession of Marijuana. The Perry County Prosecutor was also present at the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
