Daviess County Museum Announces Slate of Guest Speakers

The Daviess County Museum will host three special guest speakers in the coming weeks, offering free programs open to the public at 212 E. Main St. in Washington.

On Sunday, August 18, at 3 PM, Tommy Kleckner will discuss the historic preservation of homes and buildings in Daviess County. He will share insights on ongoing efforts and answer questions about current or planned restoration projects.

Internationally-published comics artist John K. Snyder III will visit on Thursday, August 26, at 6:30 PM to talk about his career and childhood in Washington. Snyder has contributed to well-known properties like Doctor Mid-Nite and Suicide Squad and created his independent series, “Fashion in Action.”

Archaeologist Curtis Tomak will take center stage on Sunday, September 15, at 3 p.m. Tomak, who specialized in Native American artifacts for the Indiana Highway Department, will discuss his experiences, including the Prairie Creek archaeological dig in Daviess County. Visitors are encouraged to bring artifacts for Tomak to identify and discuss.
