Daviess Community Hospital completed the first phase of its $4 million emergency department renovation project, expanding the ED by 40% and enhancing its range of services.
The first phase, which began on January 9, involved:
Renovating eight emergency rooms, Constructing two trauma rooms, Expanding the nurses’ station, Updating paint, flooring, décor, and equipment, Building a new medication room.
The second phase will include:
Building six additional emergency rooms, constructing one more trauma room, expanding the waiting room, creating a new ambulance entrance separate from the patient and visitor entrance, and building a specialized safe room for patients experiencing a behavioral health crisis.
