St. Croix Man Arrested for Attempted Murder Following Dispute

Perry County – A late-night dispute over a barking dog led to the arrest of Tyler Richardson, 32, of St. Croix, on charges of attempted murder and several other felonies. On Sunday, July 7, around 11:50 p.m., police responded to a residence at 12095 SR 62, St. Croix, after a verbal argument between neighbors escalated to gunfire, leaving a family member seriously injured. Indiana State Police revealed that Richardson confronted his neighbors about their barking dog. During the confrontation, James Morris, 32, of Tell City, approached the property line and was allegedly shot by Richardson. Morris, who was unarmed and visiting his in-laws next to Richardson’s property, sustained gunshot wounds. He was transported to Harrison County Hospital by family members before being airlifted to the University of Louisville Hospital for treatment. Richardson is now in the Perry County Jail.
