Two Arrested in Knox Co. July 4th Vehicle Theft Investigation

The Knox County Sheriff’s Department arrested two individuals following a vehicle break-in investigation that began on July 4th. The incident started with a report of a vehicle break-in at a Bicknell residence, where a handgun and other items were stolen. The report was made at 8 a.m. on Thursday. Early Friday morning, at 2:30 a.m., a traffic stop on State Road 67 near Bruce Road led to the recovery of the stolen firearm. Nineteen-year-old Steven Kalbaugh and 18-year-old Blake Navarro were arrested. Both face theft charges, with Kalbaugh also charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm by a Serious Violent Felon. In the past three days, the Knox County Sheriff’s Department has received reports of one additional vehicle theft and two attempted thefts in Bicknell. Officers and detectives are actively investigating these incidents.
