Monroe County (Bloomington) has been declared a “disaster zone” due to widespread damage from storms on Tuesday. Terre Haute was hit with a strong line of storms last night, leaving roads covered with fallen limbs and trees. Mayor Brandon Sakbun issued a thank you to the Street Department, Wastewater, and Terre Haute citizens who have assisted or dropped off water and snacks. The crews worked through the night. Large piles of brush and limbs were scattered throughout Terre Haute in the tree row. The mayor asks residents to be patient, as it will take some time to collect these piles with the loaders and chippers.
