Kenneth R. Wirth, 88, passed away the morning of June 20, 2024, with his wife by his side. He was born June 15, 1936, in Lawrenceville, Illinois, to Raymond D. and Vera Jean (Stillwell) Wirth. On February 24, 1954, Ken married Sarah (Wilson) Wirth and she survives.
After graduating from Bridgeport High School, Ken went on to graduate from Vincennes University and he also attended Indiana University. His studies were in geology. He was a sales representative for Buchanan Mechanical INC. Ken was a member of the Hadi Shrine in Evansville, and the Masonic Lodge in Mt. Carmel, Illinois. He was a member of the Kempsville Baptist Church in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
Ken enjoyed working with young people so much so that he revived the DeMolay Chapter in Mt. Carmel, Illinois. He was also a “DeMolay Dad.” He worked to make that chapter a success and was a “DeMolay Dad” for twenty-one years.
Those who now mourn Ken’s passing include his wife, Sarah Wirth; son, Jeffrey (Terri) Wirth of Washington; and daughter, Angela Kay (Richard) Miller in Florida. Ken was blessed with four grandchildren: Jason Miller; Jessica Nichole (Scott) Bauer; Heather Wirth; and Holly Wirth, deceased. Additionally, he leaves three great-grandchildren: Haven Wirth; Adaline Bauer; and Weston Bauer.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents, Vera and Raymond Wirth; and granddaughter, Holly Wirth.
It was Ken’s wishes that no services be held for him.
