Patrina L. Carroll

Patrina L. Carroll, 88, of Washington, IN, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on June 12, 2024, at The Villages at Oak Ridge in Washington at 4:20am.

She was born on May 18, 1936, to the late Roy Ray and Viola Mae (Mallette) Meurer in Daviess County, IN.

Pat attended Plainville High School. She was a lifetime member of the Plainville Christian Church. She married her first husband, Kenny Hinkle, on December 20, 1952, and he preceded her in 1969. Together, they had three children: Vicki, Gregory, and Kenneth. Many years later, on December 27, 1997, she married her second husband Jim Carroll, and he preceded her in death in 2018.

Pat worked several jobs throughout the years, Crane, RCA, Uniroyal, and most notably as a secretary for Thompson Insurance (formerly Brown Insurance). In Pats spare time, she loved to bowl and garden. She was a great cook, and made delicious pies. She loved her church, her church family, and enjoyed working and attending several Walk to Emmaus’. She especially loved her own family, particularly her grandchildren.

Survivors of Pat include her children, Vicki (Arthur) Campbell of Washington, IN and Kenneth (Beth) Hinkle of Bloomfield, IN; her step-sons, Jerry (Krista) Carroll, Tony (Annie) Carroll, Terry Carroll, and Joe (Cindy) Carroll; her grandchildren, Stephanie (Brian) Humerickhouse, Jason (Ale) Campbell, Kenny (Ashlie) Hinkle, and Heath (Taylor) Hinkle; her great-grandchildren, Cory (Amillia) Humerickhouse, Kyle Humerickhouse, Libby Humerickhouse, Morgan Campbell, Ellie Campbell, Everly Hinkle, Ezra Hinkle, and Houston Hinkle; sister-in-law, Linda Brown; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents Roy and Viola; her first husband, Kenny Hinkle; her second husband, James “Jim” Carroll; her son, Gregory Hinkle; her mother and father-in-law, Clifford and Letha Hinkle; her sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Joe York; brother-in-law, Ray and Sharon Hinkle, and her brother-in-law Gary Brown.

Visitation for Pat will be held on Sunday, June 16, 2024 from 4:00-8:00pm at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home 2020 State St., Washington, IN 47501. A funeral service will be conducted on Monday, June 17, 2024, at 11:00am with Pastor Ashley Shurtz officiating. Friends and family may visit with the family again on Monday from 10:00am until the time of service. Interment will follow at the Plainville Cemetery in Plainville where she will be laid to rest next to her first husband Kenny and her son Gregory.
