The Daviess Community Hospital (DCH) Foundation and the DCH Nursing Scholarship Committee have announced Amber Gerkin as the recipient of the $5,000 2024 Daviess Community Hospital Foundation Nursing Scholarship. Gerkin who has over 20 years of experience in wellness and healthcare, will be taking her NCLEX boards this summer and completing trauma certifications while working in the DCH Emergency Department. The scholarship is designed for nursing students entering their final year of education. The funds are directly payable to the recipient, who must agree to remain employed at DCH as a full-time registered nurse in direct patient care for two years.
