Speeding Stop on Interstate 69 Leads to Drug-related Charges

On May 10, at 7:57 p.m., Deputy Michael Owens conducted a traffic stop on a blue 2020 Toyota Camry for speeding at 103 mph on Interstate 69 near the 27-mile marker. The driver, identified as 19-year-old Dylan Besing of Oakland City, pulled over halfway into the center median and partially into the passing lane. Deputy Owens conducted a roadside investigation and discovered marijuana and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle. Besing was transported to the Gibson County Jail and charged with Operating a Vehicle While Intoxicated with Endangerment, Criminal Recklessness, Reckless Driving, Possession of Marijuana, and Possession of Paraphernalia. All defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
