On May 5, the Washington Police Department initiated an investigation into an alleged sexual assault. Officers executed a search warrant at a residence on State St., where narcotics were discovered, and a second search warrant was granted. 56-year-old Ronald Veller was arrested on charges of dealing methamphetamine, maintaining a common nuisance, possession of a syringe, and possession of paraphernalia. The initial investigation is ongoing.
On May 6, the School Resource Officer notified the Detective Division about a social media post regarding a potential threat at one of the schools. The juvenile mentioned in the post was identified as a student at the junior high school and was detained without incident.
