The Daviess County Council had a light agenda for the April meeting on Wednesday morning. The Council approved funds in the amount of $228,386 in interest and principal payments related to the courthouse renovation project. Council members also approved a request to transfer funds in the Assessor’s Office account for the purchase of a replacement field vehicle. The current field vehicle is 21 years old and needs a replacement. The Council also approved a request from the Health Department to appropriate funds received from the SARS-COVID Testing Grant to the communicable disease testing fund. In other business, the Council approved a request from Community Corrections to purchase computers to replace the aging computers in the offices. Also approved was a request from Superior Court Judge Dan Murrie to move $3,500 from the Jurors Food and Lodging scrounge to the office machines account for the purchase of lap tops for the court reporters. The Council also appropriated funds received from the state for elected officer training. The next County Council Meeting will be held at 8:15 a.m. on May 8 in the Commissioners Room at the Daviess County Government Center.
