The Daviess County Commissioner met Tuesday morning with a short agenda. Commissioners Ron Arnold and Nathan Gabhart approved a fee schedule for the Daviess County Health Department. County Health Nurse Cathy Sullender explained that the fee schedule was needed to provide pregnancy care for women without health insurance. The fees are needed to mitigate the expenses of non-insured pregnancy care after a previous grant awarded to the hospital ran out. In other business, the Commissioner heard a request from Airport Manager Erica Burkemper to dispose of an old dump truck. Burkemper said the truck is in great shape but is unused and has been in a garage for at least 12 years. The commissioners asked that she check with the County Highway Department before disposing of the truck. If it cannot be used by the Highway Department, the Commissioners will begin the process of declaring it surplus equipment. The Commissioners also approved a request from WTH Electronic Map to access the county’s GIS mapping system, approved the appointment of new County Prosecutor Abby Brown to the Longevity Pay Plan Committee, and approved vendors for the county’s property and liability insurance policies.
The commissioners also authorized the removal of hazardous materials as part of the courthouse renovation and authorized security automation systems to install security cameras. Commissioner Gabhart reported that the renovation project is running on schedule.
The next commissioners meeting is scheduled for 8:15 a.m. on March 12 in the Daviess County Government Center.
