All three Warrick County Commissioners have been arrested following an animal control investigation led by Indiana State Police. The arrest stems from allegations related to misappropriated funds involving Warrick Animal Guardian (WAG), a non-profit organization operated by Danielle Barnes, a former supervisor at Warrick County Animal Control. During the investigation, it was revealed that Commissioners Terry Phillippe, Dan Saylor, and Robert Johnson allegedly had no knowledge of WAG or its activities. However, detectives found evidence suggesting their involvement in accepting a mobile trailer donation from WAG for Warrick County Animal Control. Additionally, the commissioners reportedly instructed the health department to reopen businesses associated with individuals who were friends and business associates of the commissioners. The health department refused, leading to the termination of its supervisor. Following the investigation, criminal charges were filed against the commissioners, resulting in their arrest and subsequent release on bond. Charges include perjury, official misconduct, and false informing. Terry Phillippe, Dan Saylor, and Robert Johnson face legal proceedings in connection with the case.
