Born in Vincennes, Indiana, on June 19, 1946, Betty spent her formative years enveloped in the warmth and community of her birthplace before blossoming into a figure beloved by all who knew her.

Betty’s life was a rich tapestry of love and dedication, most evident in her enduring partnership with her devoted husband, William “Bill” Bobe. Betty’s love story extended through her many roles as a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is fondly remembered by her children: Shelly Cary (Paul) of Wheatland, Barbara Vermillion (Richard) of Vincennes, Judy Pohl (Mark) of Vincennes, Curtis Bobe of Bruceville, Kenneth Jones of Vincennes, Christopher Bobe (Michelle) of Bruceville, and Richard Jones (Tiffiney) of Vincennes. Although predeceased by her parents, Loretta Davis Mitchell and Everett Burl Mitchell, a cherished granddaughter, Taylor Jones, three sisters, and two brothers, Betty’s memory is a beacon for togetherness and resilience for her family.

Alongside her husband, Betty owned and operated the cherished local establishment, Bill and Betty Bobe’s Pizza, which became not just a business but a warm gathering place infused with their shared spirit of community and hospitality.

In quiet moments, Betty found solace in her garden among the flowers she nurtured and the books that ignited her imagination. Yet, her heart was always fullest when encircled by her family, whom she adored above all else.

Betty will be profoundly missed and lovingly remembered for the strength, compassion, and light she brought to the lives of so many. Her presence, like the gardens she tended, will forever bloom in the hearts of those she touched.

Services will be privately held at a later date. The family welcomes online condolences and fond memories to be shared at www.fredrickandson.com. Fredrick and Son McClure-Utt Funeral Homes are honored to be entrusted with Mrs. Bobe’s arrangements.
