Spencer County, IN – Indiana Conservation Officers are conducting an investigation into a tragic off-road vehicle accident that occurred on a Spencer County Road. The incident took place on a Thursday afternoon when 80-year-old Melvin Melsheimer from Warrick County was assisting a juvenile in operating a side-by-side ORV. Tragically, they veered off the roadway, entered a ditch, and collided with a tree. Despite immediate life-saving efforts, Melsheimer was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. Notably, neither he nor the juvenile were wearing helmets or safety equipment at the time of the accident. This incident remains under investigation.
