Indiana State Police carried out a highly effective saturation patrol targeting dangerous and impaired drivers in the Evansville area Friday night and early Saturday morning. Troopers Issued 28 traffic tickets, issued 28 traffic warnings, arrested two motorists for driving while intoxicated, cited an Illinois man for reckless driving (driving 99 mph on US 41), cited two female juveniles for possession of marijuana and alcohol, and arrested an Evansville man on a motorcycle after fleeing from troopers for a traffic violation. The rider’s passenger was arrested for an outstanding warrant.
Five Impaired Drivers Arrested in Knox County Saturation Patrol
During Knox County saturation patrols focused on apprehending dangerous and impaired drivers Saturday night and early yesterday morning, Indiana State Police took significant action. Officers conducted 128 traffic stops, resulting in three drug-related arrests. Arrests of five motorists for driving while intoxicated, all of whom were taken to the Knox County Jail.
