A Greene County resident is facing escape charges following his apprehension in Vincennes. On Monday morning, just before 6:30 a.m., 30-year-old Philbert Levi Wright of Bloomfield departed from the Greene County Community Correction’s Residential Work Release Facility via a fire exit. Authorities discovered a tracking bracelet abandoned in close proximity to the facility. Law enforcement promptly disseminated Wright’s description, cautioning the public that he was to be considered armed and dangerous. Wright, who was serving time for robbery and assault convictions, had been in the work release program. According to jail records, Wright was arrested by Vincennes University Police and booked into the Knox County Jail on Tuesday night at 10:16 p.m. In addition to Greene County’s escape charges, Wright also faces auto theft charges in Knox County.
