On June 30th, 2023, the Jasper Police Department began an investigation in reference to allegations of child molesting. After an extensive investigation, police were able to establish probable cause that 49 year old Michael Crockett of Jasper had sexual contact with juvenile female under the age of 14. Mr. Crockett was interviewed by detectives at the Jasper Police Department where he admitted to the allegations brought forth by the child. Mr. Crockett was arrested and was charged with 4 counts of Level 1 Felony Child Molesting and 4 counts of Level 4 Felony Child Molesting.
