Mary Ann Litherland, 86, passed away at 5:01 pm at Bridge Pointe Health Campus surrounded by her loving family. Mary was born on December 11, 1936, and she is the daughter of Naif John and Annavieve (Folsom) Joseph. She married Duane “Barney” Litherland on January 15, 1953, and he preceded her in death on September 19, 2012.
Mary worked in the fabric department for Wal-Mart and was a former member of McKinley Avenue Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting and she loved to work in her yard. Most importantly she loved her grandchildren.
Survivors include her children, Tom Litherland and his wife Jan, Dale Ann Son and her husband Mark, Jody Cardinal and her husband Ed, Lisa McGavic and her husband Virgil all of Vincennes; daughter-in-law, Kathy Litherland of Monroe City; her grandchildren Laura Skyles, Brandi Williams, Steven Litherland, Jr., Audra Graber, Maria Litherland, Kristofer Litherland, Jennifer Spann, Philip Chanley, Jr., Michael Son, Matthew Son, Jaime Greer, Derek Cardinal, Brant Cardinal, Angie Phillips, Brad Toth, Braden Bezy; thirty six great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and one on the way. Mary is preceded in death by her parents, husband Duane “Barney” Litherland, her son Steve Litherland, granddaughter Bethany Litherland, sister Francis Stokes and brother James Camp.
Friends may visit with Mary’s family from 11:00 am until the hour of service time of 2:00 pm on Friday, June 23, 2023, at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home, 524 Broadway, Vincennes, IN 47591. Mary will be laid to rest next to her husband Duane in Memorial Park Cemetery. The Litherland family has requested memorial contributions be made to Asera Care Hospice or Vincennes FOP Lodge #62.
