Mildred (Morrison) Purdue, 98, passed away at her residence in the Villages of Oak Ridge, during the evening of June 12, 2023. She was born December 30, 1924, in Washington to Adrian and Barbara (Jerger) Morrison. She was married to John E. Purdue and he preceded her in death.
During the World War II era, Mildred’s first job was at the Parachute Factory in Washington. Later, she worked at JC Penney as a department manager, and for many years, Mildred is best remembered as one of the cooks at the Washington Community Schools. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and the Washington VFW Auxiliary. She was a member of Our Lady of Hope and the Daughters of Isabella.
Those who mourn Mildred’s passing include her daughter, Donna J. Bath of Washington; and her grandchildren: Tenna M. (David) Hasler of Carmel; Robert A. (Lynn) Bath of Independence, Missouri; Rodric A. (Kay) Bath of Mattoon, Illinois; and Ronnie A. (Becky) Bath of Wheatland; great-grandchildren: Amie, Derric, Kaitlyn, Jordan, Ryan, Brittany, Darin, Ashlee, Kaylee, Mitchell; and great-great-grandchildren: Payton, Declan, Della, Keaton, Kason, Amelia, Charlotte, Josephine, Mosley, Macklin, Leighton, Kayzlee, Livia, and Whitley.
Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, Adrian and Barbara Morrison; her husband, John E. Purdue; great-grandson, Scott Bath; son-in-law, Robert Lee Bath; brothers: Louis Morrison and Harold Morrison; and sister, Helen B. Morrison.
A private memorial service is being planned for a later date.
