The Daviess County Fair kicks off on Tuesday, June 27th, at the fairgrounds in Elnora. James Gang Amusements opens rides at 6 p.m. every night. The Fair Board has announced that on Thursday, June 29th, they will sponsor free rides for the first 100 kids at the fair. Pick up your pass(es) at the fair table near the office. You must have your child with you. You will take them to the ticket booth to redeem them for a hand stamp. FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE. Tickets will be passed out starting at 6 p.m. until they are gone. While at this year’s fair, don’t forget to get a free ticket for the nightly bicycle giveaway. One boy’s and one girl’s bikes will be given away every night. Must be present to win. And there will also be a “power wheels” raffle. Tickets are $2 each, or six for $10. The drawing will be on Saturday, July 1st, at 9 p.m. You need not be present if you win the “power wheels”.
