Leadership changes are underway at South Knox Elementary Schools as Principal Scott Staggs has resigned from his positions as Principal, Transportation Director, and School Improvement Plan Chairperson. The School Board will review a recommendation to hire Jeff Rode, the current Assistant Elementary Principal, as Staggs’ replacement. Staggs’ resignation will become effective on July 31st. These personnel matters will be discussed at a public hearing scheduled for next Tuesday evening. During the meeting, the school board will also address the proposed contract for a new Superintendent for South Knox School Corporation. Jeff Cochren, currently serving as the Principal of Heritage Hills High School, is being considered for the Superintendent position, as the current Superintendent, Tim Grove, will be leaving the corporation at the end of this month. Members of the public are invited to provide their comments at the hearing, which will take place on Tuesday at 6 p.m. in the South Knox High School Cafeteria.
