Darrell Lee Eaton, 88 of Montgomery, Indiana, passed away peacefully at his home at 1:05 pm, Tuesday, May 2, 2023, surrounded by his family.
Darrell was born November 16, 1934, in Plainville to the late Edgar and Mary (Webber) Eaton. He graduated from Plainville High School in 1952 and wed Janet Sue Dougherty on June 24, 1955. He was a member of Bethany Christian Church.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He owned and operated Eaton’s Farm Service in Montgomery and was an active livestock farmer. After retirement, Darrell enjoyed helping out daily at Farmer’s Storage Supply, Inc. in Montgomery. He had a strong competitive spirit. He enjoyed and excelled in basketball and golf. He was a basketball referee for thirty-two years and an IHSAA observer for another twelve years. As an avid sports fan, Darrell spent many hours watching basketball, baseball (Cubs) and golf.
Darrell is survived by his three daughters, Kimberly Showers (Larry Boggs) of Westfield, Deanna (Neil) Sheffler of Carmel, and Cheryl (Dean) Robinson of Montgomery, one sister Olive Lawyer of Plainville, six grandchildren Joe (Leah) Robinson, Kyle (Jamie) Dickinson, Blake Sheffler, Lynnsey (Mike) Cohn, Lauren (Matt) Gillott, Russell Showers; and eleven great-grandchildren, Hunter, Alli Jo, Stella, Everett, Ava, Olivia, Sophia, Colette, Isla, Daniel and Andrew.
Darrell was preceded in death by his wife, Janet Sue Eaton; parents, Edgar and Mary Eaton; brothers: Norman Eaton (Vonnell), Bill Eaton (Margie), Gene Eaton, Max Eaton and brother-in-law, Ray Lawyer.

Visitation for Darrell L. Eaton will be 4:00-8:00 pm, Friday, May 5, 2023, at the Ed L. Lee Mortuary, 620 East Viola Avenue, Washington, Indiana.
On Saturday, May 6, 2023, visitation for Darrell L. Eaton, will be held 10:30-11:30 am, at the First Mennonite Church, 8002 East 550 North, Montgomery, Indiana.
Funeral services for Darrell L. Eaton will immediately follow the Saturday visitation and begin at 11:30 am, also at the First Mennonite Church in Montgomery. Interment will be in the Bethany Cemetery.
