Kathy D. Burks, 69, passed away at her Washington residence the morning of March 17, 2023. She was born in Washington on September 28, 1953, to Dale Morton and Ruby Mae (Jones) Bledsoe. She married Garry Burks on March 11, 1972, and he survives.
A 1971 graduate of Loogootee High School, Kathy went on to become a USDA Inspector at Perdue Farms. Kathy enjoyed thrift shopping, gardening and flowers. However, her greatest joys came when she spent time with her grandchildren, and when she worshipped God. Kathy was a devoted member of the Fountain of Life Church in Washington.
Those who now mourn Kathy’s passing include her husband, Garry Burks; her son, Christopher “Chris” Burks of Washington; and her daughter, Lana Burks of Washington. Kathy was blessed with five grandchildren: Kerstin Burks of Live Oaks, California; Maggie Burks; Reid Burks; Ian Hill; and Allison Hill, all of Washington. She leaves siblings: Tony (Sophie) Bledsoe; Linda Green; Ronnie (Linda) Bledsoe; and Larry (Judy) Bledsoe all of Loogootee.
Kathy knew the sorrow that comes with loss when her parents, Dale and Ruby Bledsoe, passed away.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Fountain of Life Church, 1600 South 75 East, Washington, Indiana 47501.
A private service for Kathy D. Burks was held, Tuesday, March 21, 2023.
